Big Chief Golf Scramble raises funds for football program

Natchitoches Central head football coach Byron Keller and his coaching staff hosted the Big Chief Golf Scramble tournament Saturday, June 23 at the Northwestern Hills Golf Course. Events started at 8 a.m. featuring a four-person team scramble attempting to accumulate the best score during 19 holes of golf. Prizes were awarded to the top three teams, longest drive and closets to the hole.

After lunch, team members received door prizes, along with team and individuals awards. Closest to the hole award was won by Dennis Breland and the longest drive award by David Sparks.

First place went to the team of Chuck Barrios, David Sparks, Brett Kerecht and Rob Sikes.

Second place went to the team of Darren Williams and Junius Julien.

Third place was the team of Dennis Breland, William Breland, William Townsend and Bill Townsend.

“I would personally like to thank everyone who participated in the Golf Scramble Tournament to help raise money for the NCHS Football program. Conday, Mayor Lee Posey and First Federal Bank of Louisiana. Without their support, the tournament would not have been possible,” Keller said.
