Dear Editor:
It is with sadness that we learned of the death of Monsignor Carson LaCaze, a Natchitoches native. Monsignor LaCaze, or Padre as we called him, was my classmate at St. Mary’s School through our junior year until he left for the Seminary during the summer prior to our senior year.
Whenever Nita and I would go to Shreveport on a Saturday, we would go to St. John Berchmans Cathedral and Father LaCaze would usually be saying Mass.

It is ironic that on June 18, Nita and I were having dinner at the Lucky Village restaurant and Father Carson and his brother Levy came in to have dinner also. We had a nice visit with Father Carson.
Father Carson LaCaze married Nita and me 57 years ago.
A Mass of Christian Burial was to be at the Cathedral of St. John Berchmans Wednesday. Buddy Maggio
