Laverne Bayonne, 88, passed away July 11, 2018, at her home with her family by her side.  She was born May 20, 1930, to Mary Monette Bayonne and Victor Bayonne in Cloutierville, the ninth of 10 children. She later moved to Natchitoches where she raised her two children, Harold Bayonne and Susie Bayonne Smith.
She retired after 27 years of service at the Natchitoches Parish School Board as a dietician.  Laverne was a parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Harold Bayonne Sr. (Deborah); daughter, Susie Bayonne Smith (Freddie); sister, Alma Rachal; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and another soon to be born; a grandson-in-law; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 21 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Natchitoches with Father Marc Noel serving as celebrant.  Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery in Cloutierville.
The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. Friday, July 20 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.  Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7 p.m. on the 20th in the funeral home chapel.
