City, Parish burn bans lifted

230

The Burn Ban for the City of Natchitoches has been lifted, effective Tuesday, July 31.

Property owners and residents can resume normal legal open burning practices. Keep in mind there are still some areas where residents should exercise caution when burning. If the material to be burned is of a large amount or area, notify your local fire department of your intention to burn this large amount of debris or material.

The City of Natchitoches Fire Department appreciates the public’s cooperation during this time.

Parish President Rick Nowlin has lifted the parish-wide burn ban due to recent rainfall. While the significant rain has alleviated the dry conditions necessitating the burn ban,  residents should take extreme care while burning materials, whether in contained or open areas.
