A service to honor the life of Mr. Merwyn E. “Reb” Allen Sr. was at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28 at Coldwater Baptist Church in Hagewood with Bro. Tim Leach officiating. Burial followed at Coldwater Baptist Cemetery.
Reb, 73, and a resident of Natchitoches, passed away Friday, July 27, 2018. He was born Sept. 21, 1944, to Cleon and Julia Laverne Bellue Allen in McComb, Miss.
Reb was a hard worker his entire life and a great provider for his family. A true family man, he always placed the needs of his family ahead of his own. He enjoyed fellowship with his church family at Coldwater Baptist Church, where he has been a long-time member. His faith and love for his Lord gives us peace knowing we will be reunited with him in Heaven one day. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleon and Laverne Allen.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Betty Outlaw Allen; children, Merwyn E. Allen Jr. of Cheneyville, Michael Allen of Cheneyville and Amanda Fogle of Montgomery; and a sister, Dianne Jackson of Kentwood. He was blessed with six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers included Jonathon Allen, Jared Allen, Eddie Jones, Bradley Jones, Will Allen and Francisco Rico.
