
Cane River National Heritage Area, Inc. (CRNHA) will host a brown bag lunch and learn lecture entitled, “Red River Legends and Folklore” Saturday, Aug. 11 at the Grand Ecore Visitor Center.
Professor Cheryl White, Associate Professor of History at Louisiana State University at Shreveport, will explore some of the folklore surrounding the Red River and its historical basis. “The Red River is full of myths and many of them have been researched and preserved in the works by Dr. White,” said CRNHA Heritage Ranger Michael Mumaugh.
The presentation and Q&A will be from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The lecture is free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to bring their own brown bag lunch. For questions, contact Mumaugh at 318-356-5555.
