Mr. Billy Dean Ellerbe Sr., 52, of Natchitoches passed away Friday, Aug. 3, 2018.
He was born Sunday, Oct. 31, 1965, in Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his father, Billy M. Ellerbe; daughter, Hannah Ellerbe; grandson, Levi Cole Ellerbe.
Billy was a family man and always put his family and friends before himself. He and his spouse of 31 years raised six children together. He had a deep love for his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with each one. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on the farm at home. Billy enjoyed his career driving an 18 wheeler for over 20 years and even after retiring would often see trucks and would discuss the color, lights, size and type of truck. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Kathy Scott Ellerbe; mother, Irma Ingles Ellerbe; children, Carolyn Hines (Bryant), Penny Wagoner (Bryan), Tammy Hagan (Mason), Brittany Whittington (Troy) and Billy Ellerbe Jr.; grandchildren, Taylor, Dillon, Rachel, Vivian, Kaitlyn, Cody, Laeton, Brookelaine, Grace, Elizabeth, Nevaeh and Riley; great-grandchildren, Kayden, Autumn and Harper; and siblings, Rodney Ellerbe, Robert Ellerbe, Pam Walker and Emmett Ellerbe.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5 at Southern Funeral Home with the Rev. Butch Rogers and the Rev. Jay Jones officiating. Interment followed in Old Union Cemetery in Joyce.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Marvin Daniels, Josh Ellerbe, Ryan Ellerbe, Laeton Whittington, Mason Hagan, Cody Taylor, Dillon Hines and Bryan Wagoner.
