The Cane River Zydeco Festival and Poker Run will come to the downtown Natchitoches riverbank for the 19th time Labor Day Weekend, Aug. 31- Sept. 1.
Admission for Friday is free and Saturday is $8.

Friday:
6 p.m. – Go DJ Rob Real (entertainment)
9:30 p.m. – Zydeco Dance Contest
Saturday:
9-11 a.m. – Poker Run Registration (Cost is $25 per rider/$15 each additional rider. Includes T-shirt and armband. The Poker run is 80-100 miles through Kisatchie National Forest & along the scenic Cane River Lake past historic plantations. Best poker hand wins a cash prize.)
11:30 a.m. – Ride Begins
1 p.m. – Gates Open and Go DJ Rob Real (entertainment)
1:30 p.m. – On Point Band (entertainment)
4-6 p.m. – Gerald Delafose and Zydeco Gators (entertainment)
6:30-8 p.m. – Go DJ Rob Real (entertainment)
8:30-10:30 p.m. – Marcus Ardoin and Da Zydeco Legends (entertainment)
Besides musical entertainment, there will also be food and beverage vendors and a bounce house for children.

The Cane River Zydeco Festival began in 1999 by members of the Magnolia State Police Officers Association, Cane River Branch. The Magnolia State Peace Officer’s Association is the state wide organization that started the Toys for Tots program. They also help the community through other various programs such as community service, Shop with a Cop, food baskets and preparing Thanksgiving dinners for underprivileged families. Proceeds from this event assist in funding various community functions around Natchitoches Parish.
