Cardiac patient and Natchitoches resident Mark Adkins recently traveled to Massachusetts for the opening of Abiomed’s new $17 million Innovation Center.
Abiomed makes the Impella, the world’s smallest heart pump, which helps the heart rest and recover. During the visit, Adkins had the opportunity to meet the Abiomed employees who built the specific Impella pump that helped aid his recovery.
Adkins also celebrated the opening of Abiomed’s new Innovation Center, which will boost the company’s research and product development capabilities to benefit more patients.
