Nightly free concerts, livestock shows, LRCA Finals Rodeo, and all-new State Fair Food Crawls will welcome visitors, Oct. 25-Nov. 11
The 112th annual State Fair of Louisiana will be Oct. 25-Nov. 11, at the Louisiana State Fairgrounds in Shreveport. Fair organizers have announced details including a complete schedule of nightly free concerts, free and discounted gate admission and parking promotions, livestock shows and LRCA Finals Rodeo events, parades and more. Attracting more than 400,000 people each year, the State Fair of Louisiana also hosts the largest carnival and livestock show in the state.
The State Fair of Louisiana opens at 10 a.m. each day except for Mondays and Tuesdays, when the fair is closed (with the exception of Election Day, Nov. 6, when the fair will open at 10 a.m.). The fair closes at 10 p.m. on weeknights and 11 p.m. on weekends. Carnival rides and games along the midway open for business at noon on weekdays and 10 a.m. on weekends. Live entertainment headliners will include a mix of well-known country, gospel, zydeco, hip-hop and rock music performers. Live music headliners will include: Jeter Jones and Cupid, Friday, Oct. 26; the Navy Pride Band, Sunday, Oct. 28; Ole Whiskey Revival and Cody Cooke and the Bayou Outlaws, Friday, Nov. 2; 69 Boyz and Ying Yang Twins, Saturday, Nov. 3; La Energía Norteña, Sunday, Nov. 4; Gospel Mega Fest 2018, Thursday, Nov. 8; and T-Broussard and the Zydeco Steppers, Sunday, Nov. 11.
New in 2018 are the State Fair of Louisiana Food Crawls planned for Nov. 1 and 8. These guided food tours will offer adventurous eaters the opportunity to sample more than a dozen of the most unusual state fair foods – including cricket pizza, deep-fried Oreo cookies, and alligator on a stick – for an all-inclusive price of $20. Food crawl tickets also include gate admission and parking. Tickets must be purchased in advance. General gate admission is $12 and parking at Louisiana State Fairgrounds is $5.
