During the early morning hours of Saturday, Oct. 13, the Natchitoches Police Department responded to a call at 515 Fairgrounds Road, Apt. #23, due to the caller, Annie Hicks stating she had shot someone. Officers responded, located Hicks and spoke with her about the incident. During this time, officers on the scene were contacted by an officer at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center and informed, Kylie Renee Descant, 19, of 125 Edgewood Drive, Frierson, had been shot while on Fairgrounds Road.
The Criminal Investigations Division of the Natchitoches Police Department was contacted and began an investigation. Annie L. Hicks, 69, b/f, was arrestedon one count of Attempted Second Degree Murder.Hicks was later transported out to the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.
The victim, Descant, was treated at NRMC for a non life threatening injury.
