On Sept. 21, the seniors in the Natchitoches Central High School JROTC program spent the weekend in New Orleans to build esprit-de-corps among the new cadet leadership of the 2018-19 senior class in JROTC. The cadets spent the weekend with their chaperones Lt. Col. (Ret.) Anthony Mault, 1st Sgt. (Ret.) Michael Selby, and Donna Selby.

On Saturday, 1st Sgt. Selby conducted a team building activity to see how well they knew each other by having each cadet write five things on a card that people should know about themselves and see who could guess the correct cadet. The main event was a visit to the World War II Museum in New Orleans. After the museum, the cadets ate lunch at the Riverside Mall. After a long day, the group traveled back to the hotel and did another team building activity in the form of charades.

Each person impersonated a cadet and everyone took turns guessing who it was.

The last event was a cadet imitation game. The cadets had to say something that their fellow cadets would always say and again all the cadets had to guess who it was. On the way back to Natchitoches, the seniors stopped at Celebration Station in Baton Rouge to have some fun playing arcade games, race go-karts and play mini golf.

The weekend was a success and the cadets grew as a team and committed to making 2018-19 a fantastic year.
