Billy Drue Kay, 76, went to be with the Lord Oct. 21, 2018, at his residence.  He was born to Bud and Hazel Kay Aug. 11, 1942.

Billy was a Provencal High School graduate and went to work in the construction business immediately after graduating.  He made a lifelong career of building and remodeling homes. Billy enjoyed spending time with his family, especially all his grandchildren.  He loved to garden and each year he raised many vegetables to share with family and friends.  He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Hazel Kay, and brother, Paul Kay.

Billy is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nell Kay; two children, son Brian Kay and wife Kim, and daughter, Carla Salard and husband Paul III; seven grandchildren, McKailey Salard, Josie Mollette and husband Ryan, McKenzie Salard, Wyatt Kay, Jessa Kay, Wiley Kay and Janie Belle Kay; one great-grandchild, Margo Mollette; sister, Jean Clark and husband Billy; brother, Kenneth Kay and wife Nina; sister, Dorothy Burt and husband Jack; sister, Mildred Wall and husband Harold; sister, Mary Tucker and husband Robert; sister, Rhonda Rachal and husband Bob; as well as a multitude of friends.

Those honored to be pallbearers are Reggie Isgitt, Wayne Yates, James Stacy, Waymon Kay, Danny Kay, Joey Allen, Jeff Rachal and Lavelle Kay.

Honorary pallbearers were, Bob Miller, Marvin Bombek and Randy Dupree. Service was at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home Friday, Oct. 26 at 10 a.m.  Burial followed at Friendship Cemetery in Provencal.
