NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University will host the 30th Annual Classic on the Cane Marching Contest Saturday, Nov.3. Competition begins at 9:45 a.m. with the final performance at 6:45 p.m. The Spirit of Northwestern Band will play at 7 p.m. with the awards ceremony at 7:15 p.m. Admission is $5. Schools in Class IA are Ruston, Sterlington, Brusly, Franklin Parish, Parkview Baptist, Woodlawn, Lakeshore, Byrd and Grant.
Class IB includes Many, Winnfield, Pickering, Buckeye, Rosepine, Merryville, DeQuincy and Delcambre.
Those competing Class II are Pineville, Iowa, Central and Tioga.
Class III consists of E.D. White., Zachary, Acadiana, Benton, Jennings, Mabank (Texas) and West Ouachita.
Airline, DeRidder, Sam Houston and Sulphur will compete in Class IV.
