NATCHITOCHES – Pilgrim’s Pride – Natchitoches Complex donated $10,000 to Northwestern State University’s Department of Engineering Technology in thanks for the hard work NSU students and faculty put into a project at the local facility.
Bernard Johnson, Complex Safety and Health Manager at Pilgrim’s – Natchitoches Complex, thanked the Engineering Technology faculty and students for their exceptional service and assistance with at ergonomic assessment. Pilgrim’s received great feedback because of the assistance of NSU faculty, staff and students, he said.
“It’s a wonderful partnership and a way we can engage our faculty and students. Students are taking the skills they learn in the classroom and seeing them in the work environment,” said Dr. Margaret Kilcoyne, dean of NSUs College of Science and Technology. “We look forward to many more opportunities for growth between our university and Pilgrim’s.”
“We are thankful for industry leaders such as Pilgrim’s for their unwavering support of Northwestern State and our Engineering Department,” said NSU Development Officer Kimberly Gallow. “Because of partnerships like this one, we are able to continue to fund and gain support for external opportunities for our students, faculty and staff.”
