Feline facility coming to City Shelter

The City Shelter will now have a feline facility for lost and homeless cats. The building was purchased with money raised from a Facebook, radio, television, newspaper and internet fundraiser drive. This enabled the City to purchase a 16×16 foot building. The interior will be finished by the City. There will also be two screened in porches.

Shawn Daily, left, with NHS President Juanita Murphy and Shelter Director Jonathan Meziere, made a donation for a cat shelter building for the Natchitoches Humane Society.

Shawn Daily made a generous donation in memory of his beloved Vanna to help reach the funding goal. “Many animal loving individuals made contributions to purchase the building. We truly appreciate Graceland Portable Buildings in Kentucky who found a building we could afford,” said Murphy.

Graceland will deliver the pre-owned building and set it up at no charge. The shelter is looking for a heating and cooling window unit.
