A Celebration of Life service for Wendell Ray Cox, 58, will be Saturday, Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home in Shreveport. The family will receive friends during a visitation Friday, Nov. 16 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Wendell was born to Bobby Wayne Cox and Peggy Davis Lacaze Aug. 27, 1960, in Natchitoches. He went to be with his Lord Nov. 5, 2018, in West Virginia. Wendell was a big-hearted, gracious person who enjoyed life. He loved to fish, hunt, golf and garden. Wendell was a superintendent in the oilfield for the past several years. He also loved animals, especially his dog, Duty. Wendell will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Wendell was preceded in death by his father.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Peggy Davis Lacaze; his loving wife, Gail; stepson, Aaron Raymond; brother, Tommy Cox (Darla); sister, Susan Hall (Tony); sister, Carolyn Hynes (Randy);  numerous nephews and niece; and his many devoted friends.

Honoring Wendell as pallbearers will be Tommy Cox, Randy Hynes, Tony Hall, Daniel Page, Mike Vaughn, and Howard DeYoung.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Davis, Joshua Cox and Torrey Raines.
