***Based on information obtained by detectives, a search warrant for the residence located at 626 Genti St. was obtained and executed. As a result, detectives took the suspected shooter into custody. Jimmy Benjamin, DOB: 11/5/1981, of 626 Genti St., Natchitoches, on one count of Attempted Second-Degree Murder. Benjamin was later transported out to the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center. ***
During the early morning hours of Monday, Nov. 13, the Natchitoches Police Department responded to a call on Genti Street due to a concerned citizen stating a female had been shot in the mouth. Officers responded and located Shenihia Authur.
Authur gave officers information on who had shot her and the location where she was shot. Authur was later transported to the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center, however due to the severity of her injury, wastransported to Rapides General Hospital where she underwent surgery and is listed in critical condition.
