Tommy Stewart Chevrolet sold to Vaughn Motors last Friday according to Jay Stewart, agency manager. Vaughn Motors operates seven dealerships south of Alexandria in communities like LeCompte and Bunkie.
The Stewart sale means all three new car dealerships in Natchitoches have changed hands this year. Calvin Braxton sold to Jimmy Granger and Legacy Dodge sold to Hebert Town and Country. Both Granger and Hebert are in Shreveport.
Jay Stewart, Tommy’s son, said he will remain as manager and all employees will be kept. The dealership will remain in the same location.
Tommy Stewart is now retired. He operated the Chevrolet agency at the Texas Street location since 1995. Prior to that he was with Holmes Motors and with Bob Deray agency when it sold to Holmes. He owned a Chevrolet dealership in Minden and grew up working with his father who had a dealership in Jonesboro.
