Voted the best band on Bourbon Street for six consecutive years, Chicken on the Bone is returning to the Natchitoches Christmas Festival entertainment lineup on Saturday, Nov. 24. Chicken on the Bone is from New Orleans, but has taken over the I-10 corridor and plays from Texas to Florida.
Their popularity has taken them to Georgia, Memphis and Shreveport. How did they come up with that unusual name for a band, you ask. Well, about 26 years ago (1992 to be exact), one evening after rehearsal the group of musicians were looking for a name for their newly formed band. A couple of the guys in the band had children and as they talked about eating, chicken came up in the conversation.
As they talked about chicken, the kids chimed in and wanted to know if they were having chicken on the bone or chicken nuggets for dinner. From that conversation, the name Chicken on the Bone came about. If you like ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash, Billy Idol and Kiss, then Chicken on the Bone will feed your rockin’ soul. Considered the Best Band of NOLA five years running, Chicken on the Bone features classic rock for all occasions.
The band’s members are irresistible rock entertainers for all. They offer variety music and entertainment for everybody.
