A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Nora LaCour Metoyer will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Natchitoches with the Rev. John O’Brien serving as celebrant. Burial in Catholic Cemetery of Natchitoches will follow the Mass. The family will receive friends from 10-10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 911 5th St., Natchitoches. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. A repast will be at the Natchitoches Events Center following the committal service.
Noelie Marie Metoyer, known by all as Nora, passed away Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, after blessing this earth with 103 years of her presence.
She was the daughter of Edward and Rosa Metoyer LaCour and the wife of John Taylor Metoyer. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two sons, John Ivan Metoyer and James Edward Metoyer.
She was the last of six children that came from the union of Edward and Rosa LaCour.
Nora was a life-long resident of Natchitoches and worked for many years as a nurse’s aide at Natchitoches Hospital. She was a devout Catholic lady and the oldest member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
Her children left to cherish her memory are Esther Patterson and husband Pat, Jeanette LaCour, Rosa Lee Pichon, Deloris Beaudoin and Gregory Metoyer. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
