Burglary suspect in custody



Natchitoches Police Department officers responded to an in-progress burglary of a residence on Woodyard Drive Sunday, Dec. 9 at 8:42 p.m. The suspect(s) were gone upon officers arrival.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) of the Natchitoches Police Department were contacted and responded to investigate. Based on information obtained, detectives identified a suspect as Demontae Johnson, 19, of 222 Kingston Drive.

A warrant for his arrest was obtained. Johnson turned himself in at the CID Monday, Dec. 10 at 4 p.m. Johnson was arrested and booked on one count of R.S. 14:60 Aggravated Burglary and was later placed into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center awaiting bond.

This investigation remains active and more arrests are expected.
