During the early morning hours Friday, Dec. 14 around 5:39 a.m., the Natchitoches Police Department received a call from a concerned citizen stating that a black male subject was walking in the roadway near Natchitoches Central High School.
Prior to officers’ arrival, Brandon Jackson called and requested an ambulance because he had struck a pedestrian in the roadway. The injured pedestrian, Derrick Brown, approximately 34 years of age, was immediately transported to the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
