A service to honor the life of Mr. Ira Cochran Jr. was at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27 at Crossroads Baptist Church in Marthaville. Burial followed at Marthaville Cemetery under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.
Ira Cochran Jr., 82, and a resident of Marthaville, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2018, in Natchitoches.
He was born to Ira J. Cochran Sr. and Ethel Rivers Cochran Peacock Nov. 24, 1936.
He is preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Harold Peacock; and two sisters, Ima Jean Rawls and Gaylynn Hayes.
He is survived by his wife, Amy Smith Cochran; children, Tony D. Cochran and wife Shirley, Gregory A. Cochran and wife Deborah, and Cheryl Cochran Rodriguez and husband Rick; grandchildren, Kristin Tolar, Eric Cochran, Laura Barlow, Emily Cochran, Jill Jamal-Hanjani, Tatum Powell, Joseph Cochran, Anissa Hernandez, Sara Rodriguez and U.S. Army Specialist Alexander Rodriguez; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
