VFW President Visits Natchitoches

The National President of the VFW Auxiliary Sandi Kriebel of Elliot City, Md., visited Post 1962 of Natchitoches Nov. 30. Post 1962 Auxiliary President Deanna Fowler coordinated the National President’s visit to include touring Oakland Plantation, and the Cane River area. She also enjoyed the downtown sights and shopping. President Kriebel commented on how much she enjoyed the Natchitoches Meat Pies and other local specialties.  Mayor Lee Posey presented the Key to the City of Natchitoches to President Kriebel. Kriebel shared some of her experiences while traveling across the United States visiting VFW Posts and serving veterans. The local auxiliary members prepared a buffet meal for all of those in attendance. Prior to the open house at the post, Kriebel laid a wreath in the Natchitoches Parish Veterans and Memorial Park. The Color Guard was presented by the Lakeview High School JROTC.
