First United Methodist Church is hosting Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University Sunday nights from 5-7 p.m. starting Jan. 13. This course will be taught by Dr. Doug and Dr. Allison Landry. They will be teaching how to deal with debt and live in peace with family finances. This is open to the community, including high school students, college students and any adults. FUMC thought it was important to offer this class to help the community. Many are not taught about finances or how to balance a check book. A new year comes with new resolutions or goals and it is the perfect time to start new habits when it comes to finances. Through a grant from the United Methodist foundation, each household that completes the 10-week course will receive $333 towards their emergency savings fund.
