Mrs. Ruth Antee Thomas was born on July 28, 1924, in Natchitoches to Sylvester “Charlie” Antee and Fannie Chaffers. She passed away Dec. 19, 2018, at the age of 94.

Mrs. Thomas was a graduate of Natchitoches Parish Training School, Southern University and A&M College, and Northwestern State University. She was an educator in Natchitoches Parish for over 50 years. She was a dedicated member of Asbury United Methodist Church, a member of the Women’s Mission and a former Sunday School teacher.

Mrs. Thomas enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening and spending time with her family. She was also an active participant in her community and took pride in her neighborhood of Johnson Drive.

She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Bronwyn Thomas Dickson (Samuel); one granddaughter, Selisha Thomas Landry (Daniel, II); five great-granddaughters,  Jasmine Thomas, Ashley Brown, Danielle Landry Randall (Johnathan), Dana Landry and Danica Landry; one great-grandson, Daniel Landry, III; two nieces, Ruby Ann Wilson and Karen Wright; one nephew, Patrick Wright; and a host of grand nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ralph Antee; and four sisters, Inzia Hoover, Eddie Lee Antee, Gloria Wright and Millicent Antee.

Services were Dec. 27 at Asbury United Methodist Church in Natchitoches.
