Mr. J. L. Morgan, 73, of Goldonna passed away Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019.
Born Wednesday, Aug. 29, 1945, in Nebo, La., he was retired from Placid Oil Industries as chief operator having 31 years of service.
Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Dove Rice Morgan; step-mother, Mary Hyman Morgan; wife, Betty Claire Morgan; brother, Vernon Morgan; and sister-in-law, Judy Morgan Deen.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Charlene Davis Morgan; children, Christina Hampton (Todd), Jeff Morgan (Christine), Laurie Wise (Lee) and Matthew Morgan (Krystal); step-sons, Jeffery Luneau (Angela) and James Moudy; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nephews, Scott and Wade Morgan; niece, Beverly Earnst; as well as a host of many friends.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5 at First Assembly of God with the Rev. Shaun Garner and the Rev. Wayne Morrow officiating. Interment followed in Goldonna Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home, Winnfield.
Clifton Keiffer, Brian Lee, Michael Dark, Tim Bryant, Buddy Skains and Bobby Barnett served the family as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers were Bill Caskey, Roy Dupree, Bill Frazier, David Thoman and Tinker Myers.
