Talk Back to the Times: What are your thoughts on Gov. Edwards’ proposed teacher pay raise?

We want your comments.

Gov. John Bel Edwards’ plans to unveil his executive budget with $1,000 pay raises for teachers.

Another part of the governor’s push is $500 pay raises for support workers, including cafeteria workers, school bus drivers, paraprofessionals and teacher aides.

Budget spats could turn the pay raise into a onetime supplemental appropriation.

We are asking teachers in Natchitoches Parish to voice their opinions, concerns, support, etc. on the issue.  Simply e-mail Juanice Gray at (Facebook messenger comments also welcome)

We welcome comments from teacher union and teacher organization representatives.

Deadline is Tuesday, Jan. 15.
