Natchitoches Fire Dept. received a call at 11:39 a.m. reporting smoke in a house at 629 Quida. Engines 1 and 2 with Rescue 1, the truck 1 crew, C-2, the Safety Officer, NFD fire investigator and Chief John Wynn responded, resulting in a total of 12 fire department personnel on scene.

Natchitoches Police Dept. also sent officers to the scene to assist with traffic and scene safety. Natchitoches EMS responded to stand by for any medical emergencies that may arise. The city utility department also arrived to assist with utilities.

Fire department personnel arrived to find fire and smoke coming from the structure. Fire crews entered the structure and extinguished the fire. There was heavy fire damage in part of the house and heavy smoke damage throughout.

There were no reported civilian injuries with one minor fire department injury.
