The Natchitoches Parish Library hosted its Family Story Time Tuesday, Jan. 22. The books “Get Rest,” by Sarah Tieck, “Do Parrots Have Pillows?,” by Michael Dahl and “Pirates in Pajamas,” by Caroline Crowe were read.
At a previous story time, Londyn Lawson of Shreveport, expressed regret that she could not make it to the NPL’s special Night Time Story Time. Not willing to let a child wanting a story be left out, Children’s Librarian Darlene Weems and Children’s Library Assistant Amber Waldrup set a date and arranged a special pajama party story time for Lawson’s next visit.

At the PJ Family Story Time, they talked about the importance of sleep, read sleep and pajama-themed stories, and made nightlights. Children built and then decorated their own, using pirate foam cutouts and then lit them with a glowstick.
“As with every story time, we learned something together and had fun,” said Waldrup. The NPL encourages early literacy and hosts Family Story Time every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.
