The City of Natchitoches announces the launch of the new website design of www.natchitochesla.gov Monday, Feb.25. This website redesign project was in conjunction with the 2018 branding initiative for Natchitoches that resulted in a new logo and tagline, Natchitoches – Where History Lives. Kinetix designed the site to feature a cleaner and more contemporary design with enhancements to provide a more engaging experience for users.
The site has several new features users should find useful including:
* A new Community Calendar representing a partnership between the City of Natchitoches and its partners Cane River National Heritage Area, Natchitoches Area Chamber of Commerce, Natchitoches Convention and Visitors Bureau, Natchitoches Historic District Business Association and Northwestern State University for simplicity and access to all events in the area.
* Multiple web forms for submissions like Report a Problem, Plan a Cleanup, Submit an Event and Public Records Requests.
* The site is now scalable making it mobile and tablet friendly.
* “I’m Looking For” menu to search the site in different ways.
Mayor Lee Posey stated, “We are excited to launch the redesigned Natchitoches website. Our team and partners have been working diligently to create a more user-friendly and up to date website that will serve as a tool to engage and inform the citizens in our community. I’m most eager to see new features that allow for easier access to governmental resources and information regarding community events.”
In the near future, a planning tool will be added to the site where users can plan to attend events, create itineraries and learn more about community events using the VisitWidget application. The application will build the users itinerary to include events, restaurants and lodging during their stay. This will be great for residents and visitors alike to know more about what is happening in Natchitoches.
Although considered a governmental site, the website will offer useful information for our residents as well as those interested in tourism, relocation and investment. The City of Natchitoches strives to preserves its culture while bringing new and exciting things to our community. Visit www.natchitochesla.gov to experience the new redesigned website.
