The Mystic Krewe de Saint Denis announces the Maids and Dukes to be presented during the 42nd Tableau and Ball, which will be Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Natchitoches Events Center.
The six Maids being presented are:
Sarah Kaitlin Aldredge is the daughter of Krewe members Mr. and Mrs. James Corwyn Aldredge Jr. She is the granddaughter of Harvey Francis Marcus, Sarah Adams Marcus, Corwyn Aldredge Sr. the late Corwyn Aldredge Sr. and Carolyn Aldredge. Kaitlin is a senior at St. Mary’s High School, where she has been a varsity cheerleader and a member of the basketball team. She is a member of Beta Club, FBLA, LEO Club, and FCA. As a member of the track and field team, Kaitlin was on the All-Cenla Team, a District MVP, a district/regional champion, a state runner up for Javelin and Discus, and was a 2018 Wendy’s High School Heisman award winner. Kaitlin is the senior class vice president and was presented on the St. Mary’s homecoming court. She is vice president of FCA and a member of the Bishop Martin National Honor Society. She was a Louisiana Girls State Delegate. Kaitlin was a 2018 Natchitoches Christmas Belle and was the Miss Congeniality award winner. She will be presented as a Maid at the Plantation Club of Shreveport’s ball later this spring. After high school, Kaitlin plans to attend Texas A&M University on a track scholarship and major in recreation, park and tourism sciences. She will be escorted by her father, Krewe member James Corwyn Aldredge Jr.
Claire Elizabeth Guillet is the daughter of Krewe members Mr. and Mrs. John Christopher Guillet. She is the granddaughter of Katherine Webster Jett, John Barry Guillet and Mr. and Mrs. Gloyd Martin. Claire is a senior at St. Mary’s High School, where she is a four-year member of the Tiger Line Dance Team and is currently serving as co-captain. She received an All American Dance Award for the past two years at the Universal Dance Association Summer Dance Line Camp. Claire is a four-year member of FBLA, vice president of FCA and a four year member and secretary of the LEO Club of Natchitoches. She is also a member of Beta Club and National Honor Society. She is a past princess and Lady-in-Waiting for the Mystic Krewe de St. Denis. After graduation, Claire plans to attend Louisiana Tech University and major in psychology and a focus in counseling, then further her education in graduate school. She will be escorted by her father, Krewe member John Christopher Guillet.
Abigail Lindsey Wheat is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Stephen Wilkes Wheat. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Loran Lindsey, Dr. Margaret Wheat-Carter, and the late Dr. Reginald David Wheat. Abigail is a senior and A-honor roll student at St. Mary’s High School. She is a member of the Bishop Martin National Honor Society, an American Legion Auxiliary member and was a Citizen at Louisiana Girls State. Abigail is president of the LEO Club. She was presented in the past as a princess and Lady-in-Waiting for the Mystic Krewe de St. Denis Abigail is also a member of the Texas High School Rodeo Association and the Little Britches National Rodeo Association, where she has competed at the National level. After graduation, Abigail plans to attend Louisiana Tech University with a major in pre-veterinary with a concentration in animal science, and then attend the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. She will be escorted by her father, Krewe member Dr. Stephen Wilkes Wheat.
Ava Kathryn Bijeaux is the daughter of Amy Elizabeth Deason and Josh Paul Bijeaux. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lane Deason, Honora Jane Toups, and Ronald Joseph Bijeaux. Ava is a senior at Natchitoches Central High School, where she was a member of the Maroon Line and Chiefettes. She is a member of the National Honor Society, FBLA and the Summer Dance Committee. Ava is a former member of the Calico Belles Service Organization. She is the reigning Ozone Camilla Club Queen and represented Louisiana at the 2019 Washington D.C. Mardi Gras. After high school, Ava plans to attend Northwestern State University with a major in nursing. She will be escorted by her uncle, Krewe member William Tyler Murchison.
Sarah Marie Therese Wheat is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Taylor Wheat. She is the granddaughter of Leon Beaud Loustaunau, the late Mr. Loustaunau, Dr. Margaret Wheat-Carter and the late Dr. Reginald David Wheat. Sarah graduated high school in December 2018 and is a freshman at Northwestern State University, where she is majoring in early childhood education. She will be escorted by Krewe member Gregory Scott Burke.
Alexandra Brittlynn Brossett is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Britt Clay Brossett. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Williams, Alberta Brossett and the late Leo Brossett. Alexandra is a senior at St. Mary’s High School, where she is co-captain of varsity cheer. She is a member of the National Honor Society, a three-year member of the Beta Club and a four-year member of FCA. As a member of FBLA, Alexandra placed first in computer problem solving at the District III Conference. She was also the 2018 St Mary’s homecoming queen. After graduation, Alexandra plans to attend Louisiana Tech University with a major in pre-med. She will be escorted by Krewe member William Russell Coffey.
The six Dukes being presented are:
James Corwyn Aldredge Jr. is a 1981 graduate St. Mary’s High School, where he was an All-American in football and track. Corwyn attended Northwestern State University. He also attended Mississippi State University where he was an All-SEC tight end and record holder in the javelin. He went on to play in the NFL for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Corwyn was inducted into the LHSAA Hall of Fame and St. Mary’s High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He the owner of Papa’s Bar and Grill and Mama’s Oyster House and Blues Room. Corwyn has coached football, track and powerlifting at St. Mary’s and Cedar Creek High Schools. In his spare time, Corwyn enjoys fishing, outdoor cooking and carpentry. He is married to the former Melissa Marcus and they have three children: Justin, Ashley and Katie. Corwyn and Missy also have two grandsons.
John Christopher Guillet graduated from the Louisiana State University business school in 1992 and LSU Law School in 1999. He currently works for the Corkern, Crews, Guillet and Johnson Law Firm. Chris serves on the board of City Bank and Trust Company. He is married to the former Lisa Jett and they have four children: Claire, Michael, Ella and Henry.
Dr. Stephen Wilkes Wheat graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1984. He went on to graduate from Louisiana State University in 1987, then LSU Medical School in 1991. Stephen is Triple Board Certified in internal medicine, and physical medicine and rehabilitation. He is currently in private practice at the Wheat Medical Center and teaches regularly at the Baylor College of Medicine. Stephen’s hobbies include traveling, hunting, fishing, cooking and reading. He is married to the former Lori Lindsey and they have three children: Abigail, Margaret, and Stephen.
William Tyler Murchison graduated from Louisiana Tech University in business management, then with a master’s degree in Psychology. He went on to graduate from the Louisiana State University Graduate School of Banking. He is currently an executive vice president at BOM. Tyler is a past president of the Natchitoches Area Jaycees, past president and board member of NHDDC, and currently serves on the board of directors for BOM. Tyler also won the Mayor’s Award in 1996. He enjoys coaching his children, duck hunting and watching the St. Louis Cardinals and the New Orleans Saints. Tyler is married to the former Sally Deason and they have two children, Farrah Elizabeth and William Lane.
Gregory Scott Burke graduated from the University of Mount Union with a bachelor of arts in communications, then Kent State University in sports administration. He is currently the athletic director for Northwestern State University. Greg’s hobbies include health and fitness, attending concerts, reading and doing yardwork. He is married to the former Susan Ellen Williamson and they have one child, Catherine Jean.
William Russell Coffey graduated from Riverdale Academy, then Northwestern State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Currently, Russell works at ADA Carbon Solutions. Previously, in the Krewe de St. Denis, he has been a Duke twice and Captain of the Ball. In his spare time, Russell enjoys going on cruises, watching football, exercising and watching his children grow up. He is married to the former Tina Burkett and they have eight children: Derrick McCart, Melanie Prudhomme, Jake McCart, Jenny Hancock, Jeremy McCart, Mark Coffey, Scott Coffey and Anna Coffey.
