The tuba/horn High Desert Duo will perform in Magale Recital Hall at Northwestern State University on Sunday, March 10 at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
Hailing from Las Cruces, New Mexico, the High Desert Duo creates a high energy performance like no other, using the unusual combination of French horn, tuba, digital effects and multimedia recorded accompaniment.
This concert will feature a world premiere of two new pieces for horn/tuba and recorded accompaniment including “A Walk from Bourbon to Decatur” by Lafayette composer Cory Michael Murray. The tubist for the group is NSU alum and Louisiana native Drake Domingue.
