A service to honor the life of Mr. Roy Pardue was at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 11 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Lane officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Methodist Cemetery in Natchitoches.
Roy, 91, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2019, in Natchitoches. He was born Nov. 27, 1927, to Columbus Pardue and Pearl Pardue Gray.
He is preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Clara Ann Gooden, Willie Mae Allen and Pearlie Rhodes.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Benena Cox Pardue; three children, Kayla Pardue Craig and husband Lloyd of Franklin, Tenn., Darryl Pardue and wife Cindy of Natchitoches and Pam Pardue Breedlove and husband Mike of Natchitoches; eight grandchildren, Kevin Craig (Monica) of Shreveport, Brent Craig of California, Haley Stegall (Ernie) of Tulsa, Okla., Corey Craig (Megan) of Brentwood, Tenn., Amber Pratt (Ted) of Brentwood, Kurt Breedlove of Natchitoches, Cody Pardue (Morgan) of Bryceland and Casey Harris (Kevin) of Natchitoches; 12 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Gloria Garner of Shreveport.
Roy owned and operated Stephens Super Market for many years and after retirement spent many years raising cattle. He was a hard worker providing a good life for his family. He loved a good joke and was a prankster at heart. He graduated from Natchitoches High School and served in the Army after World War II.
Those serving as pallbearers were his grandsons, Kevin Craig, Brent Craig, Corey Craig, Cody Pardue, Kurt Breedlove, Kevin Harris and Ted Pratt.
