The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced March 14 that 16 projects around the state were let March 13. Thirteen contractors presented apparent low bids totaling $34.3 million. “We’re continuing to move forward with infrastructure improvements within our state,” said DOTD Secretary Shawn D. Wilson, Ph.D.
“The safety of motorists in Louisiana is our top priority, and we will continue to improve our transportation system to the best of our ability with the resources that we have.”
Local projects and their apparent low bids are as follows: Bridge Replacement and Repair: Replacement of Clark/Good Hope/Robeline-Provencal Bridges in Natchitoches Parish: $2,455,014.83
Construction projects are prioritized by road/bridge condition, urgency of improvements, type/volume of traffic, crash records, unforeseeable emergencies that caused damage and several other factors.
