Lakeview High School will co-host its first bass tournament Saturday, March 30 on Black Lake. This is a big accomplishment for Lakeview, since the fishing team just started running last year. School Resource officer, Dep. Michael Longino, who frontlines the team along with David Gallien, explained that the program has, “…grown leaps and bounds from last year.”
“The school is a member of the North Louisiana High School Fishing League, which consists of 181 2-angler teams” Longino said, “which is roughly 360 anglers, and we expect between 275 and 320 anglers there Saturday.”
The anglers will start fishing 30 minutes before sunrise and the contest will end at 3 p.m. The weigh-in will be at 4 p.m. Gallien and Longino hope to see everybody out here Saturday to support the team and would like to thank the sponsors, boat captains and volunteers.
“Come out and support the Gators!” Longino said.
