St. Mary’s lifts gold at State


St. Mary’s Powerlifting teams competed at the State Meet Friday and Saturday, March 14-15, at the Rapides Parish Coliseum in Alexandria. Matthew Thibodaux, senior, won his weight class for the second consecutive year, was named Best Lifter at the meet and broke three state records.

Anna Kate Jackson, freshman, was the state runner-up in her weight class.

Chloé Cremans, junior, placed third in her weight class.

Chloe Nash, freshman, placed third in her weight class.

In addition, Thibodaux and Hannah Deranger, Captains of the Boys’ and Girls’ teams respectively, were the only 1A lifters named as Composite Academic All-State with their 4.0 GPAs.
