NCHS boys win first at West Monroe Rebel Relays; Girls take third

NCHS boys celebrate after their first place team finish at the West Monroe Rebel Relays.

The Natchitoches Central High School Track and Field Teams competed in the West Monroe Rebel Relays at West Monroe High School March 22. The boys team brought home first place and the girls team finished in third. The boys brought it Friday night and placed first in the West Monroe Rebel Relays defeating rival West Monroe who came in second.

On the track, the sprinters placed as follows:

Dillion Ratliff, third in the 100 meter dash; Kyron Dunn, third in the 200 meter dash; and Braylin Demars, first in the 400 meter dash. In distance, Cooper Miller placed first in the 800 and the 3200 meters. Dwan Stuckey was second in the 800 meter run. Hurdler, Devon Sowell, had a great day with a third place finish in the 110 meter hurdles and second in the 300 meter.

The relay teams dominated with first place finishes in the 4×100, 4×200 and 4×400 meter relays as well as second in the 4×800. In field events, Dale Newton earned first in the triple jump. The girls team placed third overall with impressive performances on the track and in the field.

Tymmia Helaire was first and Sidney Bayonne second in the 100 meter dash. Bayonne also placed third in the 200 meter dash. Madison Brown won the 100 meter and the 300 meter hurdles.

The girls performed well on the field as well. Brown took first in the pole vault and Faith Duncantell placed second in discus and third in shot put. Isabelle Clark had a second place finish in the shot put and a third in javelin.
