OEP Director Mary Jones provided the following information:
The potential for severe thunderstorms remains in place for tonight (Wednesday night) into Thursday across the area.
Timing and Overview:
An upper level disturbance is predicted to pass north of our area during day on Thursday, April 4th, 2019. Ahead of this disturbance, there will first be a large hail threat as early as tonight into the early morning hours Thursday for southeastern Oklahoma, northeast Texas, southwestern Arkansas, and northwestern Louisiana. Warming temperatures and increasing moisture with the disturbance will contribute to bring a threat Thursday morning into the afternoon for locations east of Longview/Lufkin, across the LA/TX border, and into northern Louisiana and southwestern Arkansas.
Four State Impacts:
Impacts: Hail remains the primary threat tonight. Damaging winds and large hail are the primary threats on Thursday with isolated tornadoes also possible.
