Just Talkin’ for April 4, 2019

JT got quite the chuckle while browsing the racks at the local Wal-Mart this week. He spotted PURPLE PRIDE Northwestern University merchandise that brought his shopping to a screeching halt. There is an N on the merchandise, and a bold cat emblazoned across it….wait! A cat, not a demon. What’s going on?

Seems the local retailer got a shipment of university merchandise, except it was the wrong university. They missed their target market. Northwestern STATE University has Natchitoches loyalty. Home of the Demons, Fork Em’ and President Chris Maggio. JT can already see prices lowering drastically and this just arrived merchandise being herded quickly toward the clearance isle.

JT has been known to watch the reality music shows such as the Voice and American Idol. He gets excited when Louisiana talent makes their way through the ranks. JT was really rooting for Florien native Tyler Mitchell, 26, on American Idol. Mitchell made it all the way to the Top 40 and performed a moving love song to his wife, Kara, on the stage in Hawaii no less. One of the judges commented “It was like they were the only two here.”

While the talent Mitchell displayed was first rate, it was not enough to advance him into the Top 20. JT knows this will not be the end of Mitchell’s career, but will only jump start it. He and Kara, who by the way is a teacher at Red River Elementary School in Red River Parish, should prepare for a life in the spotlight because the 6 foot, 4 inch country crooner has what it takes for success….Idol title or not.

So, for the rest of the season JT will be rooting harder for Louisiana native Laine Hardy, who on his second time on the show is channeling his inner Elvis and Beatle to command the stage. ——————-
