Three local ladies to be presented at 71st Holiday in Dixie Cotillion


Three young ladies from Natchitoches have recently been named duchesses of the court for the 71st Holiday in Dixie Cotillion. They are Kara Ann Davis, Mazie Catherine DuBois and Elizabeth Lucile Long.

Kara Ann Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Van Eversull and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Henry Davis Jr., is the Duchess of the City of Natchitoches. She attends Northwestern State University in Natchitoches.

Mazie Catherine DuBois, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patric John DuBois, is the Duchess of Cane River. She attends Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.

Elizabeth Lucile Long, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Dale Long Jr., is the Duchess of Natchitoches Parish. She attends the University of Louisiana at Monroe in Monroe.

They will reign alongside the king, queen, prince and princess, two other duchesses, nine ladies of the court, 14 gentlemen of the court, four heralds and four pages to the king and queen.

This year’s cotillion will celebrate Istanbul’s captivating blend of mystery and beauty Friday, April 12 at Shreveport’s historic Municipal Auditorium.
