I know that it has not been a well-kept secret that I have decided not to seek re-election to the Louisiana House of Representatives for District 22. It has been a long and hard decision to make because I love what I do.
The decision was made after much prayerful consideration. One of the greatest privileges that has been bestowed upon me in my life was being elected as the voice of the people of District 22. I have always remembered whose seat I occupied – it belongs to the people of Grant, LaSalle, Natchitoches, Red River and Winn parishes. And to them, there are no words to express my deep and heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to be of service to them and to the wonderful people of our State.
I am grateful to the Lord for allowing me the honor to serve and for the friendships and relationships that Lou and I have formed over the last eight years. I look for those relationships to continue. I’ll always remember the first time I walked into the House Chamber at night. No one was there and I looked around that impressive room and thought to myself how fortunate I was to get to do this for the people of my district and State.
Thank you so much for the opportunity that you have given me to represent you and to meet most of you in the performance of my duties.
