Donation pays medical expenses for abused dog

LSMSA’s Animal Welfare Club raised $200 from bake sales and donated the proceeds to the Natchitoches Animal Shelter to help with medical expenses associated with an animal cruelty case.

Diamond, a pitbull terrier, was seized and saved from cruel and inhumane conditions in mid-March.

LSMSA Animal Welfare Club is sponsored by faculty members Dr. Nathalie Malti and Dr. Maggie Hodge.

For more on Diamond’s current condition, see comments from Jonathan Meziere in the Thursday, April 18 print edition or by clicking the E-Edition tab above.
