Registrar of Voters Debbie Tebbetts announces information about the May 4 General Election. The election covers Fire District 1 only and includes part of Ward/Precinct 04/03 and 04/09 and all of Ward/Precincts 04/04, 04/05 and 04/06.
Polling places open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
There will one local issue on the ballot, a 10-year renewal of a $25 annual parcel fee continuation for Fire District 1.
Early voting isin the Registrar of Voters Office through Saturday, April 27 from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. Absentee voting by mail is intended for voters who will be out of the parish on election day and the week of early voting, or if a person is over 65, or has a mobility impaired ID card (must provide a copy). The last day to make a written request for an absentee ballot by mail is Tuesday, April 30 by 4:30 p.m. Written request forms can be downloaded at www.sos.la.gov under “Elections.” Click on the “Vote” link; click on “Vote by Mail”; click on “Application to Vote by Mail.” Your written request must include: Voter’s name, voter’s Natchitoches Parish Address, voter’s date of birth, voter’s Social Security number or driver’s license number, reason the ballot is being requested, election date (May 4), address to mail the ballot to and voter’s signature.
Mail and hand delivered ballots must be returned to the Registrar’s Office by 4:30 p.m. the day before the election.
