Queen Haley Lynn Franks

Miss Haley Lynn Franks will reign as Queen of the Spring Festival Court, presented by the St. Denis Art League at its 51st annual ball Saturday, April 27 on the campus of Northwestern State University in the Sylvan Friedman Student Union Ballroom.

Haley is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Lynn Franks Sr. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mason Rodrigue of Westwego and the late Mr. Edward Hunter Franks of Cheneyville and the late Marguerite Wyatt Montelongo of Natchitoches.

A senior at Natchitoches Central High School, Miss Franks is active in both school and community activities. During her high school years, she participated in softball, volleyball and track. She also was a member of the Club Volleyball team in Shreveport, where she was a Captain. While playing for Club volleyball, Haley traveled to Texas and south Louisiana for volleyball matches. She has been a four year member of the A honor roll, as well as a member of the National Honor Society. She has also participated in SADD, FBLA and FCA. She qualified for Literary Rally this year in English 4 and served as a delegate to Louisiana Girls State. After high school, Haley plans to major in nursing at Northwestern State University.

In the community, Haley attends Pisgah Baptist Church. She especially enjoys volunteering for the Natchitoches Humane Society as well as coaching Dixie Youth softball and City League volleyball. Haley also served as a Christmas Belle this past year.

Haley has been involved in the League’s celebrations for many years. She served as Herald to King James Knecht in 2009 and as an usher in 2017.

Queen Haley Lynn Franks and the Ladies of the Court were honored at the Queen’s Tea, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Dunahoe April 13. She was also feted at a luncheon at the Prudhomme-Rouquier House Sunday, April 14.


The St. Denis Art League Spring Festival Board of Directors announces the Ladies and Gentlemen of the Court for it’s 51st Presentation and Ball Saturday, April 27 in the ballroom of the Sylvan Friedman Student Union on the NSU campus.

Sixteen coeds will be presented as Ladies of the Court:

Sarah Kaitlin “Katie” Aldredge is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Corwyn Aldredge, Jr. She is the granddaughter of Harvey Marcus, Sarah Jo Marcus, the late Corwyn Aldredge Sr., Tamela Aldredge and Carolyn Buckley Aldredge. Her mother was presented as a Lady of the Court in 1981. Katie is a senior at St. Mary’s High School.

Ava Kathryn Bijeaux is the daughter of Josh Paul Bijeaux and Amy Elizabeth Deason. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lane Deason, Ronald Bijeaux and Honora Jane Toups. Her mother was presented as a Lady of the Court in 1993. Ava is a senior at NCHS.

Hannah Grace Deranger is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chad Paul Deranger. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. Paul Boutilier, Mrs. Sharon Boutilier, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Deranger. She is a senior at St. Mary’s High School.

Peyton Michelle Green is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kirk Alan Green. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Wayne Howard and Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Aubrey Green. Peyton is a senior at St. Mary’s High School.

Claire Elizabeth Guillet is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Christopher Guillet. She is the granddaughter of Katherine Webster Jett, Barry Guillet and Mr. and Mrs. Gloyd Martin. Claire is a senior at St. Mary’s High School.

Sarah Whitney Hicks is the daughter of Mr. and Mr. Steven Garth Hicks. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Wayne Pleasant, the late William Hicks and Marjory Bearg Hicks. Sarah served as herald to King James Knecht in 2009 and her mother was presented as a Lady of the Court in 1991. Sarah is a senior at NCHS.

Madeline Grace Joubert is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Justin Wayne Chandler. She is the granddaughter of Douglas Joseph Joubert Jr., Beverly Elaine Clark, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Lee Chandler. Madeline is a senior at NCHS.

Sara Elizabeth Loach is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher John Loach. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward John Clement III and Robert Edward Loach and the late Mrs. Loach. Jacob Edward Loach, Sara’s brother, was presented as a Gentleman of the Court in 2015. Sara is a senior at St. Mary’s High School.

Amanda Faith Maxey is the daughter of Joseph Whitney Maxey and Kelli Mitchell Roberts. She is the granddaughter of Kerry Mitchell, Judith Mitchell and Mr. and Mrs. James Franklin Maxey. Meradith Grace Maxey, Faith’s sister, was presented as a Lady of the Court in 2016. Faith is a senior at St. Mary’s High School.

Bailey LeaAnn McConnell is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Douglas McConnell. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nickolas LaRoy Procell, Erve McConnell and the late Mrs. Dell. Bailey is a senior at St. Mary’s High School.

Katherine Ellen Methvin is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Ted Anderson Methvin. She is the granddaughter of Ronald Glynn Braud, Janis Muse Braud and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Jones Methvin. Katherine is a senior at NCHS.

Reagan Mackenzie Moore is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Moore. She is the granddaughter of James Randall Hearron, Diana Frank Cobb and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Moore. Her mother was presented as a Lady of the Court in 1984. Mackenzie is a senior at NCHS.

Callista Grace Owsley is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Charles Owsley. She is the granddaughter of Rita Holloway Mallaun and the late Emil Earnest Mallaun, Beatrice Rodriquez Owsley and the late James Edward Owsley. Her sister, Cameron Owsley, was presented as a Lady of the Court in 2017. Callista Grace is a senior at NCHS.

Caitlyn Marie Taylor is the daughter of Edward Allen Taylor and Dana Dykes Chadick. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Howard Dykes, Griffin Allen Taylor and the late Mrs. Taylor. Caitlyn and her sisters, Ashley, Madeline and Anna Taylor, all served as ushers. Madeline was presented as a Lady of the Court in 2016. Caitlyn is a senior at NCHS.

Abigail Lindsey Wheat is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Stephen Wilkes Wheat. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Loran Lindsey, Dr. Margaret Taylor Wheat-Carter and the late Dr. Reginald David Wheat. Her mother was presented as a Lady of the Court in 1986 and her sister, Margaret Wheat, will serve as an usher this year. Abigail is a senior at St. Mary’s high School.

Sarah Marie Therese Wheat is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Patrick Taylor Wheat. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Leon Beaud Loustaunau and the late Mr. Loustaunau, Dr. Margaret Taylor Wheat-Carter and the late Dr. Reginald David Wheat. Sarah served as an usher in 2017. She is homeschooled.

 

Twelve young men will be presented as Gentlemen of the Court:

John Parker Burrell is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Scott Burrell. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Cletus Paul Bauer Sr., Clay Edward Burrell and Betty Jean Bishop. Peregrine Jean Burrell, John’s sister, was presented as a Lady of the Court in 2016. He is a senior at NCHS.

Colt David DeBlieux is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan David DeBlieux. He is the grandson of Jerry Wayne Gray and the late Mrs. Gray, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack Leston DeBlieux . Colt’s sister, Paige DeBlieux, was presented as a Lady of the Court in 2012. Colt is a senior as NCHS.

Stephen Kale Eversull is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Van Eversull. He is the grandson of Charles Edward Bundrick, the late Gloria Hough, Polly Scott Eversull and the late Dr. LeRoi Eldridge Eversull. Kale’s siblings, Charles Henry Davis III and Kara Ann Davis, were presented as a Lady of the Court in 2011 and a Gentleman in 2015. He is a senior at St. Mary’s High School.

William Grant Fralia is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jason Mark Fralia. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. David Grant House, and Mr. and Mrs. Nat Fralia Jr. He is a senior at NCHS.

Timothy Michael Giddens is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Michael Giddens Jr. He is the grandson of Jimmie Lee Jessup, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Glen Thaxton, the late Thomas Michael Giddens Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. John Wayne Talley. Hannah Christine Giddens, Timothy’s sister, was presented as a Lady of the Court in 2017. He is a senior at NCHS.

Sean Michael Grappe is the son of Sheila Rachal Grappe and the late John Michael Grappe. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Rachal Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Buford Isadore Grappe Sr. He is a senior at St. Mary’s High School.

Zachery Wayne Harrell is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Wayne Harrell. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Poe Hemphill Jr., Leo Clifford Harrell and Judy Brewster Bonner. He is a senior at St. Mary’s High School.

Richard Loren Lindsey is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Lynn Lindsey. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Richard John Ross, Mr. and Mrs. Loran Dwight Lindsey. Richard’s sister, Raegan Lynn Lindsey, was presented as a Lady of the Court in 2016. He is a senior at NCHS.

Stephen Anthony Mayeux is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Anthony Mayeux. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Cherry Ingram, Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Telisma Anthony Mayeux. Stephen’s mother the former Claudia Michelle Ingram was presented as a Lady of the Court in 1988. He is a senior at St. Mary’s High School.

John Cooper Miller is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Mark Miller. He is the grandson of Betty Worthy Zeagler and the late James Henry Zeagler, Miton Eligh Miller and Kristine Bellew Butler. He is a senior at Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts.

Matthew Aaron Thibodaux is the son of Dr. and Mrs. James Paul Thibodaux. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James Woodrow Porter, Mr. and Mrs. James Paul Thibodaux. His brothers, Joseph Michael and David William Thibodaux, were presented as Gentlemen of the Court in 2015 and 2018. Matthew is a senior at St. Mary’s High School.

Brock Tyler Zeagler is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Jon Eric Zeagler. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Nathaniel Harrison, Betty Worthy Zeagler and the late James Henry Zeagler. Brock’s brother, Cole Garrett Zeagler, was presented as a Gentleman of the Court in 2017. He is a senior at St. Mary’s High School.
