Severe Weather and Flooding Threat

Information provided by OEP Director Mary Jones

At this time we are still anticipating periods of locally heavy rainfall across the region over the next few days. The heaviest rainfall will be concentrated along and north of Interstate 30. Most of the heaviest rain, posing a potential flood threat across these areas, can be expected on Wednesday night. Around an inch to an inch and a half of rainfall is expected tonight. We are going to refrain from issuing a flash flood watch for tonight. But a watch may be necessary to address flooding concerns on Wednesday night.

Additionally, a severe weather threat exists for portions of the ArkLaTex tonight and Wednesday night. Hail and damaging winds will be the main threat.
