Former Times intern editor of award-winning college newspaper, The Reveille

Deputy news editor Luke Jeanfreau and editor-in-chief Natalie Anderson traveled to Nashville, Tenn., March 29-31 for the Region 12 Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence awards. First place awards move on to compete at the national level. Anderson is a Coushatta native.

The Reveille won awards for its website, news and sports writing in 2018 from the Louisiana-Mississippi Associated Press Media Editors college contest and the Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence contest.

Reveille staff travelled to Jackson, Miss., to collect first place awards for best affiliated website, sports breaking news, enterprise/investigative reporting and layout/design.

First place winners included:
