Movie theater getting makeover

By Hannah Richardson

Local movie theater, Parkway Cinema 6, has been closed this week due to the remodeling of the lobby and concession stand area. Some new features guests can look forward to include all new wood-panel flooring, a brand-new elongated concession stand built out of state and four television displays, one showing movie times and three showing the menu items.

According to manager Ty Freeman, many of the past renovations are unseen to the public, as nearly half a million dollars have gone towards the second floor, where the movie equipment is stored, as the theater transitioned to the digital age. Now the lobby and concession stand renovations can be seen and enjoyed by all.

The theater will be reopened May 23, just in time for local children to be let out of school and for the theater entering into its busiest time of the year.
