The Coach De Foundation hosted its first “Coach De’s Closet” June 1 from 4-6 p.m. The Coach De Foundation is a nonprofit created to help the community through different events, resources and other community outreach efforts. Coach De’s Closet is a clothes give away event for anyone in need.

The event provides toys for youth to be engaged by while parents find clothing. Saturday’s event donated over 30, 13-gallon bags of clothes and 50 pairs of shoes at the Ross Williams Park in Bailey Heights. The event was welcomed by City Councilmn Lawrence Batiste and Johnny Barnes of the Concerned Citizens Association.

The CEO, De’Andrea Sanders, says a few ways to help the foundation grow are by donating lightly worn clothes and shoes, attending events and donating services and money.
